Table Tennis (or ping pong) is a classic for kids, families and friends all year round. No matter what your age nothing gets fiercer than a holiday Table tennis tournament! Make the right choice when finding a table to start the games with our guide.
There are several things to consider when choosing a Table Tennis Table including:
- Will you be playing indoors or outdoors?
- Do you need to store this table at times?
- Is this for competition or recreation?
- What is your budget?
Indoor vs Outdoor Table Tennis Tables
Our Table Tennis Tables (excluding our Mini Table Tennis Table) are all official size with dimensions of 274cm (L) x 152.5cm (W) x 76cm (H). A great question to ask yourself when looking at tables is where will this table be used? If there is any chance the table will be exposed to rain, excessive humidity or sunlight, we suggest an outdoor table!
Our all-weather table tennis tables have been made with 6mm ACP board. This material differs from other brands that use treated wood and claim to be weather proof. ACP is a much tougher, more durable material and is specifically designed to withstand rain, sun and even snow. ACP is used in our All Weather and Elements Table Tennis Tables and are perfect for all conditions. The life of the table will be prolonged if stored under a cover as elements like the nets and posts will not like being left to the elements permanently.
Indoor table tennis tables are made with wood and have treated surfaces. Any exposure to weather conditions will damage the table surface over time. Indoor tables are suitable for home and sport centre and will be best mainained if covered when not in use.
Our range of indoor tables include the Proline, Optimum and Player tables. The optimum and player indoor tables are great beginner tables and are ideal for indoor use. If you are planning to play outdoors a weather proof table is definitely money well spent to ensure your table last for seasons and seasons!
Table Storage
All of our full size tables fold upright for storage. This simple unlock and store upright mechanism makes life easier when you need to pack away the table.
Table Tennis tables are either 1-piece or 2-piece. Once the net is disconnected the two sides of the tables fold up and either lock together as a 1-piece or can be stored apart if 2-piece. 1-piece tables are great to set up one sided games because the table stays joined when one side is folded up. See our table below to see our table storage information.

Competition or recreation?
Table tennis is great fun and games, but there’s also several levels of competition you can compete as an elite sport. If you need competition standard tables we have both indoor and outdoor options to suit your needs.
The Proline Table is suitable for national and international competition, including an ITFF approved net and post set. Both our All Weather and Optimum Table are competition standard and are perfect for schools and sports clubs.
Budget
Although the other questions mentioned will direct you to the right table you need, budget is always important to consider. Don’t forget to factor in the other necessities when looking at a table including bats, balls and nets!
